']);">“Being able to work with kids is a very rewarding part of my job,” says the man known for his gentle manner and non-stop smile who has also spent a lifetime involved in youth sports. “Children hate the idea of seeing a doctor, even an eye doctor, and there is nothing quite like turning that around … turning that squirming and fear into something else, a smile on a kid’s face. And parents love it too because it means that the next doctor’s visit — any kind of doctor’s visit — may now have that much less drama attached to it.”
- Received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha
- Completed his doctorate in optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry
- Performed an academic rotation at Evens Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado
- Also performed a medical rotation at the Omaha Eye and Laser Institute
Dr. Stephen is an avid outdoorsman. When not cheering on Olin, his son, in youth sports he can most likely be found on the golf course, boating, fishing or hiking.
